: project 365 : week 20 :

happy friday, everybody!
good week? excited for the weekend?
we have SO much going on this weekend. garage sales, 60 miles of biking, hangouts with friends, two neighborhood festivals & lots of photos!

this week was good.
i have been doing TONS & TONS behind the scenes. i have a big craft show coming up [my first one outdoors!] & am totally redoing my booth set up & creating lots and lots of new product.

this week :
outdoor picnic with friends

new packaging for new bow ties
[arent they cute?!]

lots of biking.
this week, we discovered a brand new bike trail in the city.
i took this photo of the mpls skyline in my bike mirror

this is the stone arch bridge.
its super wide pedestrian bridge [the mississippi river is underneath].
lots of folks use the bridge for photo shoots ; so pretty!

water break [and new tires] on a 30 mile ride

this is the midtown greenway [i dont know the bikers!].
its a double-lane bike trail + a walking trail.
we use this trail quite often.

we went to a parade last weekend & got to watch a beautiful dance troupe perform in traditional native dress

tell us : what are YOU doing this weekend?

: project 365 : week 19 :

happy friday!
did you have a good week?
i found that this week  f l e w  by! i woke up on monday, went to bed and *poof*, it was the end of the week.

this week, i created new product, hung out with friends, window shopped & got in week 2 of RAGBRAI training.

this is what my week looked like :

i found this great resource of 150 things to do in minneapolis.
i wrote down everything i want to do this spring!
['lists' should have been my middle name]

i put some wooden spools [we have hundreds!] in a hurricane glass to spruce up our table.

this week, i create SIX new fabric headscarves // ponytail scarves // thin neck scarves

repainted my nails with my fave [vegan!] nail polish

i ordered three new books from powells [one is a biking book + two baby books for gifts]
ill show you the baby book soon.
quite possibly the most *beautiful* childrens book i have EVER seen.
[and i have worked with kids for 11+ years]

my sister graduated this weekend & we celebrated with beer!

i am still taking the #30daysmoothiechallenge ; see my pinboard here.
the smoothie in the photo : recipe found here

took a nice window-shopping trip to REI to droll over racing bikes.
my dream bike? only $2,100.
[feel free to donate through my pay pal address ;)]

we have big plans for the weekend. 60 miles of biking. volunteering. a huge craft fair [browsing, not selling]. a parade. and a pilates class.
you?

: project 365 : week 18 :

happy friday, everybody!
its been *beautiful* here during the day all week, with scary storms, hail & high winds at night.

this week has been pretty simple. lots of biking, nanny-ing extra hours [woo hoo for money!] & baking new treats in the kitchen!
now that i am finally feeling more comfortable with my camera, i have been taking it out more, which is resulting in some pretty rad photos ;)

this week :

spent time at the local library [its a few blocks away].

blake bought a new bristle shave brush to use with the soap i bought him.

speaking of blake; he made home-made sweet potato gnocchi & it was DELISH!
[recipe to come soon!]

i made my first ponytail scarf!

sold some infinity scarves at a craft fair this weekend.

created a new dessert.
chocolate coconut milk 'ice' cream [found at trader joe'] + a few crushed up joe's o's [also at tj's]
talk about delish!

raindrops after a morning storm

week 1 of RAGBRAI training = 95 miles.
this picture is from the riverfront
[to the right is downtown mpls. you see the mississippi river & on the other side is northeast mpls]

also, i have added lots & lots of *new* photos in my shop ; perfect for moms [mothers day!], dads [fathers day!] & other people that like cool pictures [YOU!]

: project 365 : week 17 : biking & baseball

happy saturday, everybody!!
did you enter katherines giveaway yet?
shes giving away lots of cute stationary!!
enter here.

last week, blake & i headed out on a fun little date night.
our bikes were still in the shop ; so we rented bikes & headed to a twins game [our 2nd of the season!]

i used my new lens [for the first time!] & wanted to share a few of my favorite photos of the evening [i took 120+!!]

minneapolis has a bike sharing program called 'nice ride'. you purchase a 24 hour [or monthly or yearly] pass & borrow a bike. you then take the bike to another bike sharing station somewhere else in town. minneapolis [and st paul] have hundreds of sharing stations, so its super easy to check in your bike [and to check-out another one]. we have a sharing station a mile from our place & theres another one a block away from the baseball stadium.

they are bright green [obviously!], super heavy [47 pounds!] and have 3 speeds.

the light rail station goes directly to the stadium, too. we dont have a station anywhere near us, but i LOVE to see all the public transit! [and the folks that make an effort to NOT DRIVE!]

it was $1 dog night [blake had 3!!] mr. hot dog carries the wieners with him & then stops and delivers when you flag him down.

this is our third season with a new stadium & each time im there, i am so impressed with the clean lines & the 'eco-structure'

we played the red sox.
fun fact : i lived in vermont for a year ; so i took my mother to fenway park [in boston!] for a 2-game series twins vs sox.

lots of red & blue!

the views are great. i always feel very 'old minneapolis' when im at a game.

the sun starting to set

you can see the st. paul skyline ; so cool

babe the blue ox [paul bunyan was born here ;)] racing around the stadium

minnesota twins are named after two men ; minne & paul [get it? minneapolis + st. paul] our logo is the two men shaking hands over the mississippi river [which is what separates mpls & st paul]
didnt know you were getting a geography lesson today, huh?
whenever there is a great play, the border of minnesota lights up and sparkles.

i have a *huge* crush on the guy on the left. they have both done concessions for the twins for a while now & they always have so much fun. they are silly & dancing in the isles. and the one on the left is a  total babe!

like all sports jerseys, you can get your twins jersey personalized. this random guy sat the next section over & i couldnt get over it.
baby jesus?! hahah

happy weekend, everybody!!
